Social Security

I am in the process of trying to get on SSDI, a process that started in 2007. I hired a lawyer after being denied initially & his team has been helping me out since. Denial, appeal, hearing, denial, appeal (and file a new case). Now awaiting another hearing. In the mean time I've been to 6 separate doctor appointments for SS. Each time I have to have a physical health evaluation and a mental health evaluation as well. The first 2 were in 2007, the second two were in 2010 & now I just had two more this month. I find it interesting that SS thinks that sending a person to see a doctor one time is a fair or accurate way to asses a persons health. This time around was probably the worst of the three rounds. Last week I had my mental health evaluation, it took 4 hours & the actual doctor only came into the room with me for about 5 - 10 min. Her student did all the testing on me, had me in a very uncomfortable chair, so I had to stand quite a bit because the chair hurt me. After about 3 1/2 hours of testing from him, the doctor came in, looked through the notes the student had typed on the computer, in a very mean & rude manor told me the meds I am taking won't help me, that I need to find a psychologist and then left the room. I then finished out the last 20 minutes of my testing crying uncontrollably in front of the student. I have never had a doctor make me feel that terrible or be that rude. I hope my hearing is scheduled soon & I can get this all over with.
